must we instead prepare for our continued national decline

Mind Matters in America, or at least it
should. Is America's educational system up to the
challenge of making sure every American child has the
skills and talents necessary to compete in a global
marketplace? Will American children be the ones dreaming
up the new technologies and scientific breakthroughs of
this new century as they did in the last or will they -
and America - be relegated to a service economy while
countries like China and India surge ahead?
